Widescreen considerations
Published on January 3, 2006 By Lantec In Requests
First off let me say I'm not complaining, I merely wanted to point out that more and more people are gettin Widescreen displays (1920x1200, 1680x1050, 1440x900, 1280x800) and it seems to be that the LCD makers are pushing the market in that direction. Deviant Art has a section devoted to widescreen/hdtv.

Most walls are standard size and this causes us widescreen users to have to "skip over" some outstanding wallpapers because stretching them destroys the "art" in many cases. Even those that stretch with little "loss" may not work in a case where a dual display setup consists of a standard 21" screen at 1600x1200 and a 17" laptop screen at 1920x1200 (my situation).

I guess my point comes down to a request. If you think about it....it is easier to crop the edges of many walls in order to fit the "standard" dimension screens than it is to add extra black borders to the outside edge. So I'd appreciate a little consideration to us poor, poor widescreen users. I really hate to have to pass up those really outstanding walls just because there's not a wide version.

I always have sizes 800 thru 1600 in my zips unless it makes the file too big. I had been eliminating the 1600 in those incidents, but I will eliminate the 800 from now on. If you ever see anything of mine you would like in a size you need and can't get from what I provide, just let me know and I will make it for you!!

Lantec, get them from DA, no popups. And I appreciate it and will see what I can do on some of them in the future.I use FF and popup blockers and only get 1(one) when I go there..but I know the place can be a pain.

There's just soooo much stuff to wade through at DA. A person could spend all night there and not get through that days submittals.
