Just an idea to throw out there....what with the subscription drive going on.
How about a Sticky for new SUBSCRIBERS to intro themselves. You see this on a lot of the sites out there. Something to give people a way to kinda ease into the community without having to worry about stepping on toes or feel like they're intruding into threads, etc.

That kind of post might be able to catch up to Xaltec's "Word Association" fairly quickly.

So for you noob SUBSCRIBERs post a little something about yourself. You know....real name, bank account & credit card numbers, SSN, home address, etc. (just kidding)

I've been here for about a year or so but didn't see this thread until now. Changing the way my interface looks keeps me from being bored! HA! And it looks better.... I've experimented with actual skinning but haven't come up with anything worth posting. I'm SINGLE, live in California,I'm a drummer,(but my custom made drums got stolen) and have been helping my Mother who has cancer.

Thanks. My Mother's doing fairly good concidering...The cancer is about gone but now she's dealing with the damage due to radiation.... She is strong for 87 and doesn't look like she's 87.

How's it? I'm Mike. Been coming here for a bit but just now getting active. I'm not a skinner, I just appreciate the work (and use it of course). I use IP, WB6, and OD+. Love the three of them. Will prob go all out and get the new Object Desktop once it releases. Ok, glad to be here...

Welcome mikewill, glad to have you here. There are a lot of non skinners here so you can feel right at home. If I might, I would suggest that if you can purchase Object Desktop now. It will save you some money. When Object Desktop 2008 is released those people having a current subscription will up upgraded to the Ultimate version at no charge.

Once again Welcome and do like the rest of us here, have fun.

Ah, I see this is the place you get to introduce yourself. OK, here goes ....

My name is Ricky Maveety. It is also my log name (I'm not much of one for internet annonymity -- never cared much to use screen names).

I am an attorney, female, and at this moment I am 55 years old. My hobbies are building computers (my current baby is a beaut ... four monitors, 3.5 terrabytes of HD, 4G Ram, 2 Nvidia 8800 GPUs, and an Intel Core Duo Extreme CPU), computer graphics (off and on ... sometimes I get too busy), and my animals (19 cats and 2 dogs), and SecondLife. Just your typical crazy old lady with cats who lives in a big scary house way out in the country.

I am an on again and off again member of several graphics/computer communities ... again, I get very busy sometimes and just can't spend as much time as I'd like online. Sadly, there are only 24 hours in a day, and I have to sleep sometime.

My artwork is mostly located at Renderosity (under the name "rickymaveety" ... big surprise), and I don't mind critical comments as long as they are actually "critical" in the true sense of the word. That means, it better be a critique and not just a statement that it's "crap." However, I am always interested in comments that help me improve my work because I have never had any artistic training, and most of the time I haven't a clue what I am doing (unless it relates to the law, cats, dogs, housecleaning, baking, medicine -- before law school), or building PCs).

Ummmm .... that's about it.

Welcome to the WC RickyMaveety & The_Sweeper

If you click on the articles button up top you'll find a link to a lot of member created tutorials. I seem to recall our only Dream master mentioned posting one. There's a lot more under the help button including a link to our Wiki. Have fun
